For the last few series of the day I built a sync cord from various spare parts I have knocking around. Now with two flashes on the go; one under the water bath and the other behind the water drop impact point, I had a play with various gels and light modifiers. This shot was taken with a blue filter over the flash under the water tray, and a red filter over the other.

Introduced a defuser under the water tray for this shot, and reduced the flash delay by 3ms to catch the impact between the bounce and the second water drop at a point when they've only just collided. Simply changing the white balance point gives us the orange from the gel that's over the flash, but also brings out the different colours of light being refracted though the water.

Back to a top-lit, white light but added some red food colour to the water to give it a bit of a tint. Tweaked the timing a little so that the pillar of water created by the initial impact is collapsing back in to the water bath before the second drop impact.
